Reporting to the Service Manager the Service Writer is a confident energetic CUSTOMER FOCUSED member of the Service department.
- Greet and WELCOME customers.
- Open Repair orders with accurate and thorough information including the details of the vehicle concerns to assist with proper diagnosis.
- Verify open warranty recalls or campaigns available for the customer.
- Confirm Warranty eligibility and process the warranty claims.
- Work with Service Foreman and technicians to maintain clear communication with the customer and ensure that their concerns are addressed quickly.
- Maintain this communication with the customers throughout the repair process including the customers approval of the repair an estimate of the cost and an expected time of completion.
- Ensure all charges are calculated and posted with accuracy to ensure timely close of Repair Orders
- Identify possible upcoming Preventative Maintenance services with customers and schedule for them.
- Maintain an organized work space and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Other administrative duties as assigned by the Service Manager or Foreman.
Required Experience / skill set
- Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Windows based programs and MS Excel & Word. Experience with KARMAK is an Asset
- Minimum of 3 years Automotive / Truck dealership experience.
- Excellent Customer Service Skills with the ability to prioritize and focus in a fast-paced environment
