Job Summary

Interested candidates are required to complete the following online application for the attention of: The Recruitment Team. This temporary position is effective immediately until on or about February 27 2026. This position is responsible for providing services and resources to schools through various media in compliance with Board policies and procedures.

Location: Learning Resource Services and Innovation Commons located at Centre for Leadership and Learning (300 Harry Walker Pkwy S Newmarket ON L3Y 8E2).

LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Responsible to the Associate Manager Learning Resource Services & Learning Design and Development.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • To provide various specialty services and educational support resources for school and administrative needs.
  • To perform duties related to all learning resource materials in terms of facilitation operations duplication ordering distribution and maintenance of inventory control in support of curriculum schools teachers and administration.
  • To facilitate and respond to inquiries regarding ordering distribution and budget transfers from schools for access to video resources media libraries and specialty services.
  • To support the purchase and inventory maintenance of media resources supplies and materials for the Board.
  • To provide field service support for special Board related functions and events.
  • To represent Learning Resource Services at events to display and explain resources and services supplied/available to the system.
  • To operate a variety of production equipment and specialty hardware for resource production.
  • To provide support to teachers for the use of Learning Resource Services media kits including software and hardware tools.
  • To work as an active member of the Multimedia/Learning Resource Services team.
  • To attend meetings as required.
  • To attend professional development sessions/training as required.
  • To perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma with one year of post-secondary education in a related field is required.
  • Minimum six months related experience is required.
  • Operational familiarity with relational database software knowledge of Copyright guidelines working understanding of basic media hardware wiring and integration is required.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and current Board approved/implemented software is required.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Important Information for CUPE 1734 Members:

LA.11.7 Those twelve (12) month employees filling vacancies as a result of their applying to a job posting are to remain twelve (12) months at their position. Ten (10) month employees are to remain in their position until the end of the school year. This requirement can be waived with permission from the Superintendent responsible for Human Resource Services. This does not prevent employees from applying for a position or from applying for a promotion during the twelve (12) month period.

CUPE 1734 applicants will be considered to have the required educational qualifications based on the job description for the CUPE 1734 classification they currently hold on to a permanent basis in accordance with the terms of the CUPE 1734 Collective Agreement. Permanent CUPE 1734 applicants will be considered first in the selection process.

As a condition of employment an d in accordance with the Education Act anyone seeking employment or wanting to volunteer must provide a satisfactory police record check. A Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) must be completed by the police services in the jurisdiction in which you reside this is based on your home address (only accepted by police services within Canada); must be satisfactory to the YRDSB and completed within six (6) months prior to the scheduled start date. It is the candidates responsibility to provide the results to the Board upon instruction.

We will accept satisfactory PVSCs that name any other school board and other employers (daycare centers OCT and employers that would require a police check for vulnerable persons) in Ontario and obtained within the last six (6) months.
