Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

Nature of Work

Thefundamental reason that this position exists is to accurately account for andmaintain a fixed asset accounting inventory for the city. Fixed assets encompass a wide range of itemsincluding buildings automobiles sanitation trucks and their attachmentsland roads streetlights zoo animals and right-of-way. The accountants major work responsibilitiesinclude obtaining and processing fixed asset data evaluating the datareconciling it and preparing documentation. The fixed assets accountantdiffers from other accountant classifications in that the fixed assetaccountant requires specialized knowledge and experience rather than generalaccounting knowledge and experience. This classification reports to the FixedAssets Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance andthree (3) years of experience in accounting with an emphasis in fixed assets. Publicsector experience is a plus.

NOTE:Qualifying education training and experience that provide the requisiteknowledge skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Kind of Examination

Applications are being accepted to fillone (1) vacancy and any other vacancies that may occur during the life of the register. The current vacancyis with theCity of Finance Department.Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application and supplemental questionnaire.
