Position Summary |
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the companys financial records. This position leads key accounting activities including the preparation and review of journal entries monthly account reconciliations and management of intercompany transactions. The Senior Accountant collaborates closely with the Global Business Services (GBS) team and cross-functional partners to ensure offshore accounting activities are performed accurately and timely and that all processes comply with internal controls and US GAAP. Strong analytical leadership and communication skills are essential as is a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. This position will have a hybrid schedule of 3 times/week at either our Shelton CT or St. Louis (Chesterfield) MO offices |
Accountabilities |
- Oversee and review the preparation and posting of journal entries in compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
- Collaborate with the Global Business Services (GBS) team to monitor and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of offshore accounting activities.
- Provide leadership in managing intercompany transactions ensuring balances align with GAAP and company policies.
- Review and approve documentation for internal and external audits ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure robust compliance with internal controls identifying gaps and implementing improvements as needed.
- Analyze financial statements to provide insights into account fluctuations and support management decision-making.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.

Required Education Skills and Experience - Bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited college.
- 24 years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory responsibilities preferred.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Big Four experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
- Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and its practical application.

- Proven experience in a US publicly listed company is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with advanced accounting software including SAP S4 Hana Blackline and Hyperion is a strong plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively mentor and collaborate with team members.
- Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Experience with intercompany accounting multi-currency transactions and financial analysis.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities to provide actionable insights.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial reporting activities.

The salary range for this position is $80000 - $120000. Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including but not limited to relevant experience time in role base salary of internal peers prior performance business sector and geographic addition to base salary the competitive compensation package may include depending on the role participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
