The opportunity

As a Divisional Manager with our Local Authority Maintenance Department(s) PNCC and Manawatu DC contract you will manage and lead the day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive works as well as overview the coordination of annual renewals. There is also the need to provide project capital works including but not limited to network wide safety improvements. Throughout you ensure that they are profitable compliant and provide safety and network efficiency.

You will ensure we can achieve and exceed all KPI and KRA targets including safety standards quality standards budgets programme and the project objectives to ensure we secure the contract rollovers.

This role offers diversity challenge and an ability to make your mark. You will have a strong focus on people leadership and development managing key stakeholder relationships and have operational and financial accountability.

In addition to the above you will:

  • You will be part of and a contributor to the regional Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

  • Overviewing the set of project estimates for resource use and cost manage the project to meet or exceed margins / profit. Ensure optimal operational efficiencies throughout all aspects of the project

  • Ensure the maintenance programmes of all work is managed and achieved

  • Review and report on all financial information and carry out costs to complete for projects monthly

  • Price new contracts as well as variations and extras on existing contracts

  • Ensure jobs are carried out to job specifications company policies and relevant legislation codes and regulations

  • Overview the internal and external resourcing requirements including subcontractors

  • Proactively Observe Identify and Act on opportunities for increased revenue streams throughout the project

To be successful in this role you will:

  • A sound understanding and use of RAMM/WMS

  • Minimum 5 years relevant Contract Management and/or Road Maintenance experience (including job and project management)

  • Working towards or holds relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience

  • Competent users of Word Excel and Project

  • Understanding of job pricing including materials labour and plant and associated margin / profit calculations

  • Excellent client and customer relationships

  • Ability to manage diverse teams of staff and subcontractors

  • Familiar with NZS 3910 Construction Contracts Act NEC Contracts Working towards CCS training as Project Management tool
