We are looking for aSupervisorto manage theReduction Maintenancereliability team to ensure all of the identified maintenance activities are managed within Rio Tinto guidelines and best practice with the focus on ensuring the right work is completed safely and to a high standard to support operational requirements.
This is a great opportunity for a frontline leader in a multi-disciplined reliability focused team.

Reporting to theSuperintendent Reduction Maintenanceand working in a challenging and exciting environment you will be:
- Leading a diverse team performing maintenance activities to achieve safety environmental and cost objectives.
- Accountable for the delivery of operational excellence by identifying and implementing improvement initiatives.
- Conducting required audits and inspections to a high standard and for the purpose of reinforcing a strong HSE culture and systems.
- Ensuring maintenance metric targets are consistently delivered
- Recognizing training requirements of team members and providing training opportunities.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and maintenance of the NZAS safety culture.
What youll bring
- A trade qualification would be beneficial but not essential
- The ability to operate under pressure and make logical risk-based decisions
- Proficiency in SAP
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to achieve positive outcomes
- Sound level of numeracy literacy and computing skills.

Where youll be working
Based at Tiwai Point in New Zealands south NZAS makes aluminium with one of the lowest carbon footprints in the world and it is the only aluminium smelter to produce ultra-high purity metal using renewable hydroelectricity. Receiving the majority of its alumina from our Yarwun and Queensland Alumina Limited refineries in Gladstone Australia the smelter produces more than 335000 tonnes of aluminium each year.
