The Role
As an Applications Technical Specialist with Worley you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
Assist business representatives with the identification assessment and documentation of new business requirements and system improvements. This includes those required for implementations into new entities and locations and modifications for software upgrades.
Formulation documentation and agreement of appropriate business solutions for consideration and approval by GBS Global Process formulating solutions the Business Analyst should draw upon their operational experience and be in close consultation with Oracle Functional Consultants (also known as Functional Leads or Functional Architects) and relevant representatives from the business.
For proposed solutions analyse impact of change and provide an estimate of implementation effort operational costs and overall value to business or where already provided by the business - a validation of those estimates.
Drawing on functional and technical expertise to formulate and agree appropriate business solutions for consideration and approval by IT and Business users. Working collaboratively with broader IT and business representatives to ensure quality outcomes.
Business cases for larger initiatives will need to be developed for senior stakeholder approval as required and will need to include business and IT inputs.
Assess impacts of improvements /changes across multiple lines and applications by liaising with business process owners and application custodians.
- Technical Consultation:
- Review and approval of functional specifications as prepared by Oracle Functional Consultants for coding by Developers
(also known as Technical Consultants) - Preparation and validation of test scripts to be used for system testing regression testing and user acceptance testing.
- Review and approval of set-up and configuration documentation as prepared by Oracle Functional Consultants
- Coordinate Global UAT and sign off
- User support:
- Provide guidance and assistance to testers during system testing regression testing and user acceptance testing.
- Provide technical advice to the business
- Deliver business user training.
- Data Maintenance:
Coordinate/manage data maintenance activities on behalf of the business- Engage with senior location and regional stakeholders
- Analyse impact of proposed actions
- Clearance of Exceptions (legacy/aged)
- Implementation Governance:
Review and document business requirements and coordinate with Application Management team to incorporate into implementation process and location documentation. Coordinate between implementation and business users to ensure appropriate approvals for variation from design are received Confirm new implementation meets Global standards by undertaking testing as part of UAT and undertaking any production checks as requested by Corporate Finance. - Incident Management:
Escalation point for level 1 and level 2 on day to day issue resolution. Approval point for core system change
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Job Specific Knowledge:
- Oracle e-Business suite (EBS) consulting experience 6 years
- Operational understanding of key business processes (OTL and Project Accounting)
- Knowledge of Oracle functionality (E-Business Suite - OTL Workflow administrator alternatively for any finance modules as well).
- Develop and maintain complex fast formulas for time calculations validation and payroll interfaces.
- Configure OTL preferences including timecard layouts time entry rules and Eligibility Criteria.
- Configure custom time entry rules.
- Knowledge of implementing OTL in E-Business suite.
- Provide support during hyper care (post go-live) troubleshoot issues.
- Industry Specific Experience:
- Oracle Consulting Experience within Energy and Resources sector preferred
- Experience with major ERP implementations for global organizations is a significant advantage.
- Education Qualifications Accreditation Training:
- Experience with other Oracle modules such as Core HR Absence Management Project Accounting or Payroll.
- Experience working in a client-facing or consulting environment.
- Understanding of Project Management frameworks
- HSE Capability: No specific HSE requirements
- IT Skills:
- Expert user of Oracle E-Business Suite
- Any third party relates to Oracle is an advantage (Ecosys Sales Force Oracle Financials Oracle Fusion)
- Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Visio)

No direct budget responsibility however the role must consider cost / benefit of the activities under each project - Impact of Decisions on Results:
Decisions have a significant impact on the outcome of process changes involving the ERP system functionality. Technical consulting advice provided to the Corporate Accounting Assurance Manager and the Finance Controllers have a significant impact on business decisions. - Position Significance Relative to Total Organisation:
- The role is of critical importance to Corporate Finance and Location/Regional Finance functions. The role provides highly technical advice which enables Corporate Finance to improve Finance business processes through maximising the capabilities of the ERP system.
- Acts as a business partner to Locations and the GBS team to ensure the business requirements for reporting are achieved though system improvements by project managing the systems changes and providing governance over the system configuration activities which are outsourced to OMCS.
