Emergency Department - Pathways Program Commencing 30 March 2026

About the Opportunity:
Live and work on the iconic Northern Beaches of Sydney at Northern Beaches Hospital! We are seeking enthusiastic and clinically experienced nurses whom are passionate about patient care to join our professional Emergency team. We offer state of the art equipment in world class facilities utilising EMR (electronic medical records) and MEDCHART (medication management/administration) systems. We are inclusive with diverse and friendly teams with options for flexible shifts so you can achieve the balance you desire.

Northern Beaches Hospital is offering both internal staff and external applicants the opportunity to be able to transition into Emergency Care nursing. This will be offered in the form of the Emergency - Pathways Program. This is a twelve (12) month program commencing 30 March 2026 (within a permanent role) that will see you rotate through the foundational areas of the Emergency Department building on critical care assessment skills. You will be supported by a group of expert Clinical Nurse Educators and an overarching Nurse Educator to ensure you meet all objectives within the Program. You will be given protected teaching time tasks assessments and competencies to consolidate your development and successfully complete the Program.

Essential Criteria:

  • AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Must be Registered Nurse Year 2 or Year 3
  • Must work full-time for the duration of the program (12 months)
  • Must have endorsement from existing Nurse Unit Manager (existing Healthscope staff)
  • Must have completed a New Graduate Program (does not have to have been at NBH)
  • A strong commitment to your own professional development
  • All Mandatory Training requirements up to date

Desirable Criteria:

  • Post-graduate qualifications in nursing
