SQL Associate Database Administrator applies business requirements and systems knowledge to design logical and physical database structures and manages database implementation and ongoing database maintenance. The Administrator also designs documents provides guidance and supports database infrastructure solutions to fulfill business or technology requirements. An Associate Level Administrator is expected to perform these tasks independently and with minimal guidance and supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intermediate level database knowledge services to application development teams
- Maintain user access in production and non-production database environments in accordance with organizational guidelines
- Perform data masking and encryption actions for protection of PII and sensitive data
- Routine testing of backup and recovery to ensure data integrity and participate in disaster recovery exercises
- Lead coordination with DBMS vendors and other third-parties to determine causes and solutions for database problems/issues
- Root-cause analysis on complex incidents to provide future database resiliency
- Design and document software installation processes and DB standard operating configuration
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws regulations and company policies
- Flexible with on-call support as per the business need
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in IT or related field required
- 5 years SQL Server Database administration experience
- Strong understanding of troubleshooting methodologies for SQL Server 2016 and higher in a windows environment and Azure SQL Database - Oracle database experience is a plus
- Understand and assess existing software systems to recommend and implement improvements such as index creation and query tuning
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of software systems development including ability to create develop and modify database code based upon operational requirements
- Time management and interpersonal skills; high attention to detail; ability to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines; ability to work flexible/extended hours including evenings and/or weekends as required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
