Capital Mrkts Sales & ServiceThe Head of Whole Loan Conduit and Trading will lead BMO Capital Markets (BMOCM) to-be-formed whole loan trading desk and securitization conduit. This role is responsible for developing and executing BMOCMs whole loan acquisition and trading strategies pricing and managing risk overseeing securitization transactions and driving profitability across the platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in non-agency mortgage products structured finance and capital markets with proven leadership skills and a strong network of industry relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trading & Market Strategy:
- Lead all acquisition and trading activities for non-agency residential mortgage whole loans.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
- Monitor market trends credit performance and regulatory developments to inform trading decisions.
- Securitization Management
- Oversee the securitization conduit and related executions (as Issuer).
- Manage relationships with rating agencies investors and other transaction parties (as Issuer).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks.
- Risk Management
- Establish and maintain robust risk controls across trading and securitization activities.
- Monitor credit market and liquidity risks designing and implementing hedging strategies as appropriate.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a high-performing team of traders and supporting professionals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and accountability.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with senior management on strategic initiatives and capital allocation.
- Maintain strong relationships with originators servicers and institutional investors.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in mortgage trading securitization or structured finance.
- Deep knowledge of non-agency RMBS markets whole loan trading and securitization structures.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills; proficiency in risk modeling and valuation.
- Proven leadership experience managing trading desks and/or securitization platforms.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to engage with senior stakeholders and external partners.
- Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in the position. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. BMO will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
Please note the base salary for this role is $350000 USD.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
