Job Summary

The Team

The Experience Platforms team is responsible for guiding the development of experiences at SEEK. Within Web Platforms this includes building deploying and serving web applications.

We design develop and deliver tools and platforms used by SEEK to build performant and consistent experiences for our users. We manage our own roadmap in close consultation with our customers the SEEK engineering and design community.

We have a particularly strong culture of open-source development. Our front-end development toolkit sku is one of the open-source projects our team maintains.

The Role

This is a *senior technical role* within our SEEK Group Engineering function. You will act as a technical specialist designing and building fit-for-purpose solutions and strengthening the health of our technical platforms.

The focus for this role will be within Web Platforms including leading how SEEK builds deploys and serves its web applications. You will utilise your technical expertise building React applications and experience with JavaScript bundling and related tooling to drive the evolution of the web platform.

Key Accountabilities

Build

Build platforms and tools that enable SEEKs technology strategy.
Build and own a limited number of critical shared solutions.
Exemplify engineering discipline and quality that uplift SEEKs overall capability.
Build and operate highly scalable and performant software in alignment with existing frameworks.
Ensure your teams systems/platforms are fit for purpose and well architected.
Uplift and embed technical practices in Engineering teams.

Execute

Ensure writing of clean well-tested readable software using secure coding practices current patterns and tooling.
Lead secure system design and secure coding practices within team in alignment to SEEKs security principles.
Be a technical escalation person who owns and addresses production incidents through to resolution.
Be the key point of contact for technical solutions and how other teams interface with systems/tools/platforms.

Qualifications :

Skills and Experience Required

Technical

Proven experience building applications using React and TypeScript and utilising Server Rendering.
Preferred experience in JavaScript bundling and related bundler tooling such as Babel plugins ESLint plugins Webpack or Vite.
Proven experience of taking responsibility for development & maintenance of a service/system/platforms health.
Experience in technical decision making ensuring the outcome is delivered through to completion.

Other

Strong communicator.
Open minded collaborator with a growth mindset.
Prior experience working in online marketplace businesses would be considered ideal.
Experience partnering with negotiating with and influencing senior stakeholders (e.g. Engineering Managers Architects and Product Managers).
