About us
The Central Sterilising Service (CSS) is an integral part of Alfred Health providing a service to The Main Alfred Hospital Operating Suite The Alfred Centre Procedural Suite Sandringham Hospital Operating Suite and also to the wards and other departments.
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent part-time positions in the Instrument Technician based role primarily at The Alfred Hospital with some shift rotations to Sandringham Hospital. Instrument Technicians work across a 24/7 roster and are responsible for the processing (from decontamination to the issuing of sterile instruments and equipment used in all areas of the hospital).
About you
- Prior experience in CSS is necessary though not essential. You will be provided on the job training and support to develop your career.
- We offer the opportunity to enrol in a Certificate IV in Sterilisation if you have Certificate III currently.
To succeed in this position you will need to have:
- Good communication skills including fluent English written & oral skills (essential).
- The ability to learn new processes and tasks quickly and efficiently.
- The flexibility and availability to work a rotating roster across 24/7.
- Demonstrated reliability and flexibility in yourprevious employment.
- Minimum of Certificate III in Sterilization please provide evidence in application.
