Position Summary
The Graduate Nurse (GN) delivers quality nursing care to patients through interpersonal contact and provides care and services to assure patient safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical mental and psychosocial well-being of each patient in accordance with all applicable laws regulations and Life Care standards. Reports to supervising Registered Nurse (RN).
Education Experience and Licensure Requirements
- Received a nursing diploma (associates or bachelors degree in nursing) or have graduated from an approved program within the last three months
- Authorized by the Florida Board of Nursing to practice as a graduate nurse and have received a Graduate Nurse letter
- Authorized by the Florida Board of Nursing to test by the examination vendor. The GN status expires if the applicant takes (or misses) the examination. An applicant who does not pass the first examination would no longer be eligible for employment as a GN.
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Specific Job Requirements
- Work within scope of practice as defined by the Florida Administrative Code 64B9-3 and facility standards
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Knowledgeably and competently deliver quality nursing care to patients
- Evaluate patient needs through ongoing assessment and revise care plans based on changes in patients condition
- Chart appropriately and timely
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Lift 35 lbs. floor to waist lift 35 lbs. waist to shoulder lift and carry 35 lbs. and push/pull 35 lbs.
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Cares Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
