About the Job: Performs a wide variety of secretarial complex clerical and clerical accounting duties in support of the Internal Affairs (IA) Unit in the Professional Standards Division.

As an Administrative Assistant II you will:
  • Transcribe verbatim interviews letters and correspondence for the unit.
  • Type correspondence to CSPD personnel and complainants.
  • Maintain electronic files for IA complaints and investigations.
  • Monitor main IA email inbox and phone; route emails and calls to appropriate personnel or agency.
  • Coordinates all records requests under the CCJRA and CORA statutes and for subpoenas for IA.
  • Manages and tracks transcriptions for IA and coordinates with 3rd party vendor.
  • Prepares documents and schedules for review committees and tracks information for certain complaint investigations.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Basic computer experience with experience in Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel
  • Proficiency in data entry.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures methods and equipment including computers and supporting software
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Minimum Qualifications

  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)..
  • Three years of full time professional experience in a related field.
One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer service experience in a public sector or public safety environment.
