Job Summary

The Stock Controller is responsible for the accurate recording tracking movement and reconciliation of all meat products and raw materials across the processing facility. This role ensures full visibility of stock using the Meat Matrix System maintaining tight control of quantities yields batch numbers production usage waste and dispatches.

The position is critical for ensuring correct costing compliance with food safety standards minimising losses and supporting production planning.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Stock Control & System Management

  • Maintain 100% accurate stock records in Meat Matrix including receipts deboning yields production batches pack-off and dispatches.
  • Ensure all product movement-raw materials WIP finished goods trimmings offcuts and waste-is captured in real time.
  • Monitor variances and investigate discrepancies immediately.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and reconcile with system balances.
  • Prepare daily weekly and monthly stock reports for management.

2. Receiving & Cold Store Management

  • Record all incoming meat deliveries (livestock carcasses primal cuts etc.) into Meat Matrix.
  • Verify weights temperatures supplier documentation and batch details before acceptance.
  • Ensure correct storage conditions

3. Production Stock Tracking

  • Track raw material usage against production orders in Meat Matrix.
  • Record production yields - deboning trimming sausage making portioning curing smoking etc.
  • Compare actual yields against standards and flag abnormalities.
  • Monitor production wastage and ensure all losses are captured and explained.

4. Dispatch & Distribution

  • Process all dispatch orders in Meat Matrix ensuring correct items weights dates and customer specifications.
  • Ensure documentation (invoices delivery notes pick slips) is accurate and aligned with system records.
  • Coordinate with the distribution team to ensure complete and compliant loading.

5. Audits & Compliance

  • Support internal and external audits related to stock traceability and food safety.
  • Ensure full traceability from receipt to production and dispatch through correct batch capturing.
  • Maintain hygiene and food safety standards throughout cold store and production areas.

6. Variance Investigation

  • Analyse stock variances daily and provide clear explanations to management.
  • Identify reoccurring stock control issues and recommend corrective measures.
  • Work closely with production purchasing and dispatch teams to eliminate inaccuracies.

7. Reporting

  • Generate the following reports as per schedule:
    • Daily stock movement report
    • Deboning and portioning yield reports
    • Waste and loss reports
    • Dispatch summary
    • Stock variance reports
    • Cold store inventory levels
  • Submit timely reports to the Production Manager and Finance.

Education

  • Diploma in Supply Chain Inventory Management Meat Processing or related field (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 5 years stock control experience in meat processing or cold store operations
  • Strong working experience with Meat Matrix (essential)
  • Experience with deboning portion control cured meats sausages bulk cuts and cold storage environments
  • Proven record of achieving high stock accuracy
