Job Summary
A well-established and reputable group of companies operating in both the water production and forestry sectors is seeking a highly skilled Workshop Manager to oversee and lead their busy mechanical workshop in Pietermaritzburg.
This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring the smooth operation maintenance and reliability of all mechanical equipment across both business units.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day workshop operations.
Lead mentor and manage the workshop team.
Perform and supervise repairs servicing and maintenance on all mechanical equipment.
Ensure reliability and uptime of yellow plant and diesel-powered machinery.
Manage workshop budgets parts planning and reporting.
Maintain high safety and compliance standards.
Support operational requirements from both the forestry and water production divisions.
Minimum Requirements
Qualified Diesel Mechanic (trade-tested).
10 years of relevant industry experience.
Strong experience working on yellow plant diesel engines boilers and industrial equipment.
Proven leadership experience managing teams in a workshop environment.
Strong emotional intelligence integrity and a calm leadership style.
Ability to manage multiple priorities across different business units.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
