Job Overview
The client is a globally recognized Australian underwear subscription brand known for bold creativity sustainable fabrics and a culture centered on fun confidence and continuous improvement. The clients business is expanding and is seeking a methodical detail-driven Bookkeeper to support the Finance team with accurate financial data management reconciliations and compliance tasks across multiple entities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured workflows thrives in behind-the-scenes technical work and takes pride in producing clean reliable financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Process invoices bills and expenses through Xero and related approval systems.
- Prepare and upload payment batches for approval.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and employee expense tracking.
- Process settlements from Afterpay PayPal Shopify ZipPay and other clearing channels.
2. Banking & Reconciliations
- Complete daily and weekly bank reconciliations across all entities.
- Reconcile clearing accounts: Shopify Afterpay PayPal credit cards etc.
- Track and reconcile intercompany loan balances.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
3. Month-End & Compliance Support
- Prepare draft inter-company journals prepayments and fixed asset schedules.
- Prepare schedules supporting BAS GST VAT and FBT requirements.
- Reconcile payroll tax superannuation and PAYG.
- Support management reporting and upload financial data into .
- Ensure all documentation is correctly filed in Dropbox and internal systems.
4. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate up-to-date data across Xero Shopify Employment Hero and Google Sheets.
- Generate draft P&L balance sheet and AP reports.
- Support improvements to finance workflows and reporting accuracy.
- Escalate issues risks or opportunities to the Financial Controller.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 3 years bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
- Strong understanding of GST BAS reconciliations and payroll-related compliance.
- High accuracy attention to detail and strong process discipline.
- Excellent written communication and ability to work independently.
- Experience in e-commerce or retail environments.
- Proficient with Xero and collaboration tools (Slack Dropbox Hubdoc ApprovalMAx)
