Civil Engineering Specialist

STV is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineering Specialist to join our Transportation Group .

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of transportation infrastructure projects that shape how people move through our communities. Youll work alongside experienced engineers on a wide range of roadway rail utility and site development projects for public and private clients.

Responsibilities

As a Civil Engineering Specialist you will:

• Support senior engineers and project managers on interdisciplinary design projects including preparing design drawings specifications cost estimates and reports.

• Assist in the design of roadway and rail alignments cross sections grading drainage systems (hydraulics and hydrology) utilities and traffic control plans.

• Participate in design/bid/build and permitting processes coordinating with subconsultants monitoring schedules and budgets and ensuring quality standards are met.

• Use design software such as Bentley MicroStation InRoads AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoTurn to produce high-quality deliverables.

• Collaborate with internal technical disciplines and occasionally interface with clients contractors and agency representatives.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

• Experience: 03 years of professional experience in transportation roadway or site design.

• Certifications: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation Microsoft Office Suite and GIS.

  • Understanding of roadway/highway/rail design principles.

  • Knowledge of vertical and horizontal alignments grading drainage stormwater design and utility layout.

  • Familiarity with hydrology/hydraulic modeling and pavement design is a plus.
