Pay

HK$39485 to HK$87341 (HGPS Point 16 to 33) per month including Monthly Allowance

(To be pro-rated based on the total package and work pattern for a full-time Assistant Social Work Officer depending on the work hours.)

The selected candidate will be offered a contract employment with an up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as contract-end gratuity upon completion of contract with satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Provide psycho-social assessment and intervention for patients.

2.

Process pre-admission and discharge planning.

3.

Render counselling service for needy patients and their families.

4.

Develop coordinate and support hospital / cluster-based service and project under MSS and Patient Resource Centre.

5.

Collaborate with health care professionals and community partners to facilitate patients rehabilitation and re-integration into the community.

6.

Conduct and participate in activities related to continuous quality improvement and service evaluation.

7.

Any job-related duties assigned by senior.

Requirements

1.

(a) A degree in Social Work from a local university or equivalent.

OR

(b) A degree from a local university or equivalent and have successfully completed a one-year post-graduate course in Social Work at a local university or equivalent.

OR

(c) A degree from a local university or equivalent and have successfully completed a two-year post-graduate course in Social Work or possess a Masters degree in Social Work from a local university or equivalent.

(Note: Equivalent qualifications are those recognised for registration with the Social Workers Registration Board.)

2.

Registration with and a valid registration certificate issued by the Hong Kong Social Workers Registration Board.

3.

Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English and Cantonese.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure

1.

(a) Grade E in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination or equivalent.

OR

(b) Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education or equivalent.

2.

Working experience in family service / medical social service / elderly setting.

3.

Proficient in interpersonal and communication skills.

4.

Strong drive to help and utilize various social work approaches / therapies in patient care.

5.

Empathy with commitment to patient care.

6.

Ability to build internal and external partnership with strong team spirit.

7.

Able to work under pressure.
