What you will bring

Requirements:

• University Degree or equivalent in related field or applicable discipline or equivalent relevant experience. Typically 20 years relevant experience with significant project management experience.
  

• Experience in the construction of copper projects including heap leach operations.

• Experience managing projects with budgets of USD $2 billion or higher.

• Bilingual (Spanish/English).

• Effectively communicate and present complex proposals and reports to senior level management. Ability to persuade and influence others. Participative management style with a cooperative team approach.

Systems Processes & Tools

• Expert understanding of broader systems processes and tools related to field. Able to teach and help others. May be involved in the development of new systems processes and tools.

Purpose: Provides direction and project management related to construction to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations. Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of customer objectives contract terms and corporate policies.

Responsibilities

• Typically manages a single major project or multiple complex projects/programs. Ability to visualize and design new concepts and ideas related to technical/functional projects; Broad knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and sometimes lead organizational change effectively within project scope; Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information and consultation with other individuals. Typically manages work directly through project leads or other project managers.

• Makes independent decisions and recommendations in the course of managing multiple functional disciplines one larger functional discipline or a significant size project. Decisions are for long-range planning coordination and technical decisions that can be either specific and/or far-reaching. Develops and oversees implementation of strategic programs and policies for their groups which may impact the region location or large project; Ability to manage multiple complex projects through others; Works frequently with location and regional management on significant matters influencing the business results.

• Operates with broad management authority receiving minimal technical guidance and control. Limited only by project objectives and policies of the organization. Work is reviewed to ensure project direction meets client standards.

• Has direct and indirect reports and has authority for performance evaluations impacting pay. Makes decisions as to the selection training discipline and remuneration of staff. Assigns policy framework long-term mission and vision. Gives administrative direction to subordinate supervision and contact with the work force is normally through such levels rather than direct.
