Job Description: The Theater Arts Program (Department of Visual and Performing Arts) at Arcadia University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Musical Theater to start for the Fall 2026 semester.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will include directing the programs concentration in Musical Theater teaching courses in various aspects of musical theater performance within that concentration (including voice instruction) advising and mentoring undergraduate musical theater students. We will be particularly interested in candidates qualified to serve as vocal coach for private voice lessons for students in the Musical Theater concentration to serve as musical director and accompanist for departmental rehearsals and productions and to teach performance-based acting and musical theater courses. Knowledge of musical theater history and repertoire understanding of current trends in musical theater and strong piano skills will be prioritized for the position. A network of professional contacts in all aspects of musical theater will also be an asset for this position.
Essential Functions: Collaboration and leadership skills a capacity for adapting to and working within the programs existing resources and parameters and a desire to teach within the context of a broad-based liberal arts educational context are essential. The successful candidate will become actively involved in the programs recruitment efforts (which will include travel). The position will also require participation in department university and professional service activities academic advising of undergraduate students and collaboration in various campus outreach and donor relations efforts.
Qualifications: Terminal degree in related discipline with relevant previous teaching and/or professional experience. A record of successful teaching experience at the university level a proven ability to work with others from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and strong industry connections are a plus.
