Job Summary
Responsibilities
Description
Peraton is seeking a senior Software Engineer. This position focuses on designing developing and implementing high-quality software leading projects and mentoring junior engineers. Responsibilities include writing and testing code overseeing the software development lifecycle troubleshooting complex issues and collaborating with teams to ensure projects align with business objectives. The role requires strong technical skills in programming architecture and problem-solving as well as leadership and communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Software development: Design write test and deploy high-quality scalable and reliable software applications.
- Project leadership: Oversee and manage software development projects including setting timelines outlining specifications and ensuring timely completion.
- Technical expertise: Analyze and debug code troubleshoot complex issues and contribute to technical discussions and decision-making.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers share knowledge and help develop their skills through coaching and training.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams management and external vendors to align efforts with business goals and implement improvements.
- Process improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements establish best practices and help maintain up-to-date documentation.
Qualifications
Requirements
- 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD 12 years with HS diploma
- Must be a US Citizen
- Experience in system engineering job roles or equivalent years of experience
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
- Primary work locations in Tacoma WA Aurora CO San Antonio TX and Falls Church VA. Remote work may be considered in special cases when approved by the customer.
- Technical proficiency: Deep understanding of programming languages web development frameworks databases and software design principles.
- Problem-solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide creative and practical solutions.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear and effective collaboration.
- Organization and time management: Ability to plan prioritize and manage tasks effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Experience: Significant programming experience and a proven record of designing and implementing large information systems.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working within Military Health environments is a plus
