Job Summary (List Format) Software Engineer III
- Serve as manager for an internal application and its associated servers
- Oversee application deployments into all production systems
- Investigate and troubleshoot reported application and system issues
- Perform moderate testing of applications post-deployment
- Assist in updating testing and deployment guidelines
- Monitor client systems to ensure optimal performance
- Implement automation steps using proprietary job management control systems
- Communicate with the support team to triage and resolve system issues
- Write SQL queries and programming scripts to assist in issue investigation
- Diagnose and resolve system performance problems
- Provide daily support for systems/products through early detection and monitoring
- Collaborate closely with support groups for analysis and problem recovery
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience with Windows Server
- Bachelors degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
- Minimum 5 years in Systems Engineering/Application Troubleshooting
- Proficient in TSQL language
- Good understanding of MS-SQL Server and SSMS
- Experience in JIRA/SCRUM environments
- Ability to troubleshoot application and hosting environment issues
- Willingness to learn new systems and technologies
- Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Job Control Management systems
- Basic object-oriented programming experience (C# and/or F#)
- Previous experience troubleshooting IT/System level issues
