The Datalinks integrated product team is seeking a driven individual to join our team in Cedar Rapids Iowa. This engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of portions of our manufacturing line as well as taking a lead role in continuous improvement initiatives.
This Industrial Engineer will provide technical support to Operations for aerospace electronics manufacturing processes including circuit card assembly electronic sub-assemblies and top-level radio integration. This role drives process improvements supports daily production needs and partners with cross-functional teams to ensure safe predictable and efficient build processes that meet cost quality and delivery requirements.
This role offers a blend of independent initiative and teamwork collaborating closely with manufacturing engineers production personnel management and support organizations. Located onsite in Cedar Rapids IA youll play a crucial role in shaping our operational excellence and innovation. What You Will Do
Develop optimize and maintain manufacturing process documentation including standard work process flows layouts and work instructions
Perform labor time studies capacity modeling and bottleneck analysis to support staffing plans factory readiness and production rate increases
Lead and support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities using structured problem-solving tools and data analysis
Monitor performance metrics (yield defects productivity cycle time) to identify improvement opportunities across CCA sub-assembly and radio-level production
Partner with design engineering to drive design-for-manufacturability (DFM) improvements and ensure manufacturing requirements are incorporated into new designs and changes
Support capital equipment planning evaluation and implementation for electronics manufacturing processes (e.g. soldering reflow AOI coating)
Lead Lean/continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve flow in a high-mix low-volume environment
Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace and electronics standards (e.g. AS9100 IPC-A-610 J-STD-001)
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Experience in an aerospace defense or high-reliability electronics manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of electronics assembly processes (SMT hand solder reflow sub-assembly build adhesives conformal coatings)
Demonstrated proficiency in time studies capacity analysis and process optimization
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Experience in Solidworks CAD or similar programs
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience supporting factory operations in a high-mix low-volume environment
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
Experience with SAP or other ERP systems
Strong analytical communication and project management skills

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD - 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
