This is a highly responsible and complex level of audit work where the incumbent is responsible for the performance of audits of various programs operations and services statewide. This position also requires statewide travel.If youre driven collaborative and ready to make an impactthis could be the opportunity for you!
Minimum Qualifications
- Six years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting auditing business finance management economics quantitative methods or information systems plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
A bachelors degree with twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting auditing business finance management economics quantitative methods or information systems plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
A bachelors degree in accounting auditing finance business administration management economics information systems quantitative methods or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
A bachelors degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) designation plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
An advanced degree in accounting auditing finance business administration management economics information systems quantitative methods or statistics plus two years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation plus one year of experience in accounting or auditing.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Specification

Job Duties and Other Information
- Job Duties:
- Conducts audits of highly technical and complex federal and state programs.
- Examines the accuracy and completeness of documents.
- Analyzing information to discern problems such as inefficiency errors abuse mismanagement of non-compliance with laws regulations policies and procedures.
- Conducts conference with personnel of audited area to present findings and recommendations.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
- Assist in training of new employees.
Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type:Thisposition may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Work Schedule: Typically work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
