Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise day-to-day accounting operations including Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Fixed Assets and General Ledger functions.
- Supervise mentor and develop accounting staff to support career growth team performance and succession planning.
- Manage and complete the monthly quarterly and year-end financial close processes ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure the integrity of data.
- Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and US GAAP across all transactions and reporting activities.
- Coordinate the revenue recognition process in accordance with accounting standards and Thermo Fisher Accounting Policy.
- Manage all government remittances including GST/HST and other required filings.
- Review OCOGS accounts to validate accuracy and accurate classification of transactions.
- Coordinate annual updates of standard costs by the Operations team and review DL/OH rates for accuracy and changes.
- Participate in the evaluation implementation and integration of financial systems and process improvements.
- Collaborate on projects and ad-hoc initiatives to support business goals.
