Job Description
Our client is currently hiring an Administrator Property Accounting with the flexibility to work from either their New Glasgow or Halifax NS office. The successful candidate will follow a hybrid schedule working three days in-office and two days remotely.
This role provides financial and administrative support for a portfolio of properties contributing to overall accounting reporting and budgeting processes throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities of the Job:
- Prepare and post monthly accruals allocations and recovery entries
- Maintain calculation files and process monthly tax and insurance write-offs
- Review tenant direct expenses and run NPI reports after month-end close
- Prepare and reconcile monthly working papers to ensure financial accuracy
- Maintain budget trackers prepare budget files and reports and support forecasting and re-weighting activities
- Support year-end by preparing billing folders reconciling tax bills and completing year-end working papers
- Process weekly banking entries and prepare JO reports and reporting packages
- Prepare and distribute the monthly outstanding ticket status report for Recoveries
- Support Internal Reporting initiatives process improvements and ad hoc reporting
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting Business Administration or a related discipline; an equivalent mix of education and experience will be considered
- 1 3 years of experience in accounting or administrative roles ideally within property management real estate or a similar industry
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel including spreadsheets formulas and handling financial data
- Experience using accounting software or ERP systems; familiarity with property management systems is an advantage
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with financial data and documentation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines in a cyclical deadline-driven environment
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities with confidence in identifying variances and resolving discrepancies
