The SEN TA will provide targeted classroom support run evidence-informed small-group programmes and support pupils social and emotional development. This SEN TA post in Merton includes induction and planning time prior to January 2026 ensuring the SEN TA can be effective from January 2026.
Role responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke one-to-one and small-group interventions designed to meet individual learning targets.
- Scaffold whole-class activities and adapt resources so pupils can access the curriculum in Merton.
- Support social skills groups implement sensory strategies and promote independence.
- Keep accurate records of intervention outcomes and feed into review meetings with the SENCo.
- Liaise with therapists and parents to ensure consistent approaches across settings.
Person specification
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND and confidence delivering evidence-based interventions as a SEN TA.
- Practical observant and able to use a range of strategies to support learning and behaviour.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within the Merton school community.
- Ready to commence January 2026 and to participate in induction and handover before January 2026.
