We are seeking a patient resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school community in South Birmingham. This role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful hands-on support to pupils with special educational needs helping them access learning build confidence and thrive within a supportive educational environment.
This position is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs or for individuals who are keen to develop a career within SEND education. Pupils you support may present with a range of needs including autism spectrum conditions ADHD speech and language difficulties and social emotional or behavioural challenges.
Your Day-to-Day Impact
As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to implement personalised support strategies tailored to each pupils individual needs. Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis in small groups or within the wider classroom environment.
You will help adapt learning activities to make them accessible and engaging using structured routines visual aids and positive reinforcement. Supporting pupils emotional regulation communication and independence will be a core part of your role alongside helping them develop positive relationships with peers.
You will also contribute to monitoring progress by recording observations and feeding back to teaching staff. Maintaining consistency patience and encouragement will be key in supporting pupils to achieve both academic and personal milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEND
