Position Overview We are looking for a Tax Manager (CPA) with approximately 5 7 years of experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns maintaining bookkeeping records and delivering client-facing service.
This is a full-time on-site position based in our Chicago office. It is well-suited for someone who can independently manage a client portfolio oversee the full compliance process and take the lead on tax engagements with minimal supervision.
Primary Responsibilities -
Review tax returns prepared by administrative staff and accountants including 1040 Schedule C 1065 1 and others.

Sign and submit accurate returns and reports to the IRS and state departments of revenue.

Serve as the main point of contact for clients addressing questions regarding prepared returns and offering recommendations for future actions.
Additional Responsibilities -
Recruit train and support junior and senior staff accountants as well as administrative assistants.

Work closely with firm leadership on process improvements technology adoption and workflow efficiency.

Stay current with tax laws and accounting regulations including upcoming updates.

Provide proactive guidance to clients regarding the tax implications of future life events and changes.

Develop strategies to optimize client tax outcomes.

Collaborate with the office team to ensure accuracy quality and strong client satisfaction.
Qualifications -
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.

Active CPA license (Illinois or reciprocal).

Expertise in tax compliance and tax return preparation.

Proficiency in tax planning and tax strategy development.

Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations.

Familiarity with professional tax preparation and practice management software.

Ability to manage workload independently.
