About the role
The Service Innovation team under Marketing in Divisional SMI is responsible for defining and driving the delivery of the Innovation roadmap for innovations where the packaging product is not the main value driver encompassing both service-only and product-plus-service innovations. The purpose of this role is to ensure that service propositions are desirable commercially viable and deliverable through best-in-class service design and strategic partnering.
The Service Design Manager has a strong focus on customer and enterprise value creation commercial modelling and delivery with partners. The role combines expertise in service design with the ability to identify engage and manage external partners to help the team move from idea to a scalable profitable service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Significant contribution to the service innovation roadmap development and delivery - enable the prioritization of initiatives contributing strategic thinking and commercial/market insights
Provide thought leadership on service design and service partnerships to the innovation community and act as a subject matter expert in internal forums and customer-facing engagements
Lead the development of commercial models for new services including pricing strategies and monetization approaches
Design how the service generates revenue captures value and fits into the broader commercial strategy
Define how the service is priced what customers are willing to pay for and how the business benefits financially
Create low-risk versions to test the commercial model(s) test with customers and refine based on feedback before full-scale rollout
Identify external partners (e.g. tech platforms logistics providers data services) that can enhance or enable service delivery. Evaluate partnership opportunities and lead the negotiation and structuring of partnership agreements aligned with innovation goals
Scout ecosystems for emerging technologies platforms and service providers.
About You
A Degree or professional qualification in Business administration Sales Marketing Service Design Innovation Management or other relevant field of study
Deep understanding of how to design services that are desirable viable and feasible. Skilled in service blueprinting customer journey mapping and value proposition development
Experience with service design data monetization pricing strategy business modelling partnerships for service innovation delivery. Familiarity with packaging-adjacent services and digital platforms is a plus.
Demonstrated success in designing and monetizing service propositions in B2B environments.
Experience working with external partners to co-develop or deliver services.
Proven track record of contributing expert input to innovation team
Strategic Thinking and the ability to align service design and partnership decisions with broader innovation and business goals
Strong communicator who can translate complex ideas into actionable insights and influence stakeholders.
