The Department of Computer Science at The Technical Faculty of IT and Design invites applications for one or more positions as assistant professor as per15th August 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a3-yearfixed term full-time position.
We are inviting applicants in all areas of computer science. The Department of Computer Sciencehas the following research groups:Automated System Verification and Validation;Data Engineering Science and Systems ;Distributed Sustainable Software and Systems;Formal Methods for Security and Privacy;Foundations for Interacting and Computing Systems; Human Augmentation and Collaboration; Natural Language Processing; Physical and Embodied Interaction; Probabilistic and Symbolic AI; Quantum Systems Analysis and Synthesis; Systems Design & Development Practices; Web Science and Engineering
The place of work can either be at the Aalborg Campus or the Copenhagen Campus. It is therefore essential that younotifythepreferred workplacein yourapplication.
Qualification requirements
Appointment as assistant professor requires academic qualifications at PhD level. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment.
Your work tasks
Asassistantprofessor of computer science your primary tasks will be research and research-based teaching. You will teach and supervise students atbachelorsand masters level and you will contribute to the development of the department through research ofthe your daily work you will work closely with both Danish and international colleagues.

You will report to the Head of Department Peter Axel Nielsen.
Your competencies
You have independent research-related qualifications at international level and a PhD degree in computer science or a related field. You are a clear communicator and you have some degree of experience of supervision and teaching at bachelors and masters degree level. Completed pedagogical courses in supervision or similar will be a plus as will experience with external research collaborations. We alsodrawattention to a stay or employment at one or more internationallyrecognisedresearch institutions.
As a person you have good interpersonal skills are inclusive and team-orientedand able to contribute toa good workenvironment.
We expect you to be able to write and speak English at the academic level.
In order tobe assessed qualified for an assistant professor position you must meetthese academic criteria.
