One or two positions as postdoc (100% time) are available at the Research Unit of Gynaecology and Obstetrics theDepartment of Clinical ResearchFaculty of Health SciencesUniversity of Southern Denmark.

The position(s) are limited to 2½ years with the possibility of expected start date is July 01 2026.

Research tasks

The position as postdoc consists of research teaching professional development and supervision within reproductive and female-related epidemiology. The postdoc(s) will be affiliated with the FEMME project (FErtility and Medically assisted reproduction: Mapping womens short- and long-term health Effects). The FEMME project consists of three work packages related to fertility treatment: Cardiovascular disease cancer and mental health. Research tasks include planning conducting and publishing epidemiological studies using large-scale observational data primarily register-based focusing on womens short- and long-term health outcomes within the specific work package.

Depending on scientific profile and interest the position may also involve primary data collection including contribution to the design implementation and management of prospective data collection in collaboration with fertility clinics. The postdoc will have primary responsibility for work package 3 (mental health) and/or contribute across work packages 12 (cardiovascular disease and cancer). Manuscript preparation dissemination of findings and active participation in collaborative research activities are integral parts of the position.

Expectations of qualifications

The applicant must hold a PhD degree or have obtained one at the expected start date in epidemiology or a related discipline and have documented research experience in population-based epidemiology preferably within reproductive or womens health. The applicant must be fluent in English (written and spoken) and have experience with large-scale health data and epidemiological or related analytical approaches and methodology. Experience with the Danish nationwide registers is considered an advantage but is not required.

The candidate is expected to contribute to a positive and constructive working environment through active participation and openness to interdisciplinary collaboration across the department and with external collaborators.

Teaching obligations

The postdoc(s) are expected to contribute to teaching and supervision within epidemiology reproductive health or related areas in accordance with departmental needs.

The research group

The postdoc(s) will be part of the FEMME research group a multidisciplinary and international research environment with expertise in reproductive epidemiology mental health cancer epidemiology cardiovascular epidemiology and register-based research. The group is characterized by close collaboration between epidemiologists and clinicians strong national and international partnerships and access to well-established research infrastructures including Danish and Nordic population registers and prospective cohorts. The research environment supports interdisciplinary collaboration methodological development and high scientific quality.

Salary and terms of employment
