Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500 employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers if accepted are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Full-Time or Weekend Package positions qualify for hiring incentives paid out over a 3 year period. The amount of incentives offered may be discussed during the interview process.
Responsibilities:
- A clinically competent registered professional nurse who prescribes delegates and coordinates patient care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment planning intervention implementation and evaluation.
- Effectively interacts with patient significant others and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
- Assumes responsibility for the management of clinical and supportive activities and allocation of human resources of the unit on a designated shift.
- Coaches and supports the team in accomplishing the unit and hospital mission.
- Ensures that care is delivered by those who are competent/trained to do so according to the patient population level of technology required complexity of care needs and the age of the patient.
- Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for post-operative and acute care patients requiring hospitalization.
- Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.
- Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care
- Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
Requirements:
- 3 years RN experience in hospital acute care
- Previous experience as a Charge RN or Team Leader preferred
- IA RN license or compact state
- BLS ACLS PEARS or PALS and NCI - inhouse certification available upon hire
- Must be a caring communicator flexible able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems
Schedule:
- 72 hours a pay period.
- Primarily 7a-7p; evenings 11a-11p or 3p-11p
- Holiday and every 3rd weekend rotation
- The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
