Your role at St John of God Health Care
You will be responsible for high quality customer service and support for the delivery of Room Service to patients to ensure patient satisfaction. You will be located in the Room Service Support Centre and receive incoming calls from patients across multiple SJGHC Hospitals.
You will assist patients with menu inquiries and questions provide information about their menu choices and enter the meal orders from the room service menu into a meal order database on behalf of the patient.
The Position
Answer calls from patients and enter meal choices into the Delegate Menu Management system.
Identify and escalate issues to management as they arise
Liaise with caregivers across various departments and Hospitals as required.
Process the call and meal selection efficiently promptly and accurately.
Alert special requests/dietary/allergens to appropriate team leader.
Follow communication scripts when processing a patient meal request
Identify the patients needs clarify information and provide solutions and/or alternatives.
Be customer focused and adapt to different personality types of patients
Have strong verbal communication skills along with the ability to listen to the patient and interpret menu choices
You will have a strong customer service focus sound understanding of common food allergens and the ability to interpret menus along with the ability to understand the different needs of patients including cultural differences. You will have excellent communication skills including professional phone manner.
It is highly regarded if you have previous experience with therapeutic diets and similar experience in a large hospital setting.
To succeed in this role you will have flexibility to work across all types of shifts including weekends.

Salary $43.40 to $46.90 per hour (including casual penalties) plus 12% Superannuation
