The Job:

Functions as a working supervisor for individuals involved within the Weld Department. This position will be responsible for working with Production Managers to develop metrics that feed into corporate goals and communicate progress and gap closure in response to these metrics.

  • Coach and train direct reports who are engaged in providing technical support for department. (Approx. 35%)
  • Achieve metrics that feed into corporate goals. Communicate goals and progress to reports and Production manager. Continual improvement to close gaps as needed. (Approx.30%)
  • Gemba go and see the process. Look for and coach flow safety 5S standard work SIC board problem solving and visual processes. (Approx. 20%)
  • Participating in daily huddles (Approx. 5%)
  • Perform daily employee time sheets and routine Human Resources paperwork (Approx. 5%)
  • Daily Tier II meeting (Approx. 5%)

The Person:

  • High School /GED diploma required associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years of past supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of training education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • Production experience in manufacturing
  • Experience utilizing Lean tools to measure and improve the departments Key Performance Indicators (i.e. 3C RCCA 5s TPM Kaizen etc.).
  • Proficiency in a Windows operating environment including e-mail and Microsoft Office software.
  • Interpersonal skills and decision-making ability.
  • Verbal and written skills. Communicate effectively with employees upper management and customers.
  • Must be able to give and receive feedback in order to correct behavior.
  • Motivation and self-starting initiative are required.
  • Management and leadership skills are required.
  • Organizational skills ability to handle multiple task and manage priorities.
  • Understanding of welding processes and procedures
