Job Title: Header Operator - Level III

Position Summary:
Set up and operate mechanical and computer-assisted heading machines to produce complex aerospace fasteners (e.g. rivet sleeves and stems) with minimal supervision. Lead setups for others mentor junior operators and partner with Engineering/Tooling on troubleshooting. Demonstrate strong knowledge of progressive header tooling (pins punches dies knockouts transfers) and in-process quality control.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform full machine setups/changeovers; verify first-piece quality and adjust for rate and yield.
Run progressive and non-progressive headers to print/spec; complete required in-process inspections.
Read and interpret work orders drawings and shop instructions accurately.
Troubleshoot equipment and product issues; collaborate with Engineering/Tooling to resolve.
Train/assist lower-level operators; support team priorities and safe workflows.
Maintain documentation lot traceability and operation audits; follow 5S/housekeeping.
Adhere to all safety policies (PPE machine guarding LOTO).
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
3 5 years heading machine experience (aerospace fasteners preferred).
Advanced print reading and inspection skills; familiar with gauges comparators micrometers calipers.
Intermediate knowledge of header tooling & equipment (progressive and non-progressive).
Advanced knowledge of wire materials & coatings used in fastener manufacturing.
Demonstrated troubleshooting ability and effective communication across Production/Engineering.
Ability to read write and document in English; basic computer/data entry skills.
Applicable certification(s) for heading/production operations preferred.
Physical & Work Environment:
Lift up to 45 lbs; frequent standing walking reaching and handling of wire/parts.
Manufacturing environment with moving machinery oils/coolants and moderate noise; PPE required at all times.
