Job Summary:
The Plant Head will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end plant operations ensuring efficient production quality compliance safety and cost control. The role involves leading the manufacturing team driving continuous improvement and ensuring smooth functioning of all operational activities in line with food industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production & Operations Management
Plan monitor and control daily production activities to meet targets.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower machinery and materials.
Implement productivity improvements and minimize downtime.
2. Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to quality standards such as FSSAI HACCP GMP and ISO.
Collaborate with the QA/QC team to maintain product quality and reduce deviations.
Oversee hygiene sanitation and food safety practices across the plant.
3. Cost & Inventory Control
Manage operational budgets reduce wastage and optimize resource usage.
Monitor inventory of raw materials packaging materials and finished goods.
Coordinate with procurement and supply chain for timely availability of materials.
4. People Management
Lead and mentor production maintenance quality and support teams.
Ensure proper staffing training and performance evaluation.
Promote a culture of discipline safety and continuous improvement.
5. Maintenance & Safety
Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and statutory regulations.
Monitor workplace safety audits and corrective actions.
6. Reporting & Coordination
Prepare regular reports on production yield downtime and operational KPIs.
Coordinate with senior management on strategic decisions and operational updates.
Support new project implementations capacity expansion and process improvements.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering/Food Technology/Production Engineering or related field.
1015 years of experience in manufacturing preferably in food/FMCG industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety norms and compliance.
Experience in handling large teams and multitasking across departments.
Skills Required
Leadership and decision-making skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of production planning process optimization and lean manufacturing.
Excellent communication and team-management skills.
