About NRL Cowboys House:
NRL Cowboys House managed by the Cowboys Community Foundation provides supported accommodation and wraparound educational and career transition support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from remote communities in North and Far North Queensland. The House is committed to empowering young people to achieve their educational training and employment goals and to thrive as future leaders in their communities.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic passionate and strategic leader to head the Transitions and Pathways team within the NRL Cowboys House program. This pivotal role ensures every student has a supported and realistic pathway beyond school into further education training or employment and ongoing support for up to two years after graduation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Transitions and Pathways team including Career Transition support and the Year 13 Transition Officer
- Oversee individual transition plans for every student
- Manage the Year 13 Graduate Campus program
- Build and maintain partnerships with employers training organisations and tertiary institutions
- Embed future-focused planning across all stages of the Cowboys House experience
- Drive data-informed reporting continuous improvement and long-term success
- Support students and graduates to achieve independence and meaningful career outcomes
About You:
- Energetic leader great communicator and strategic thinker
- Strong belief in the power of opportunity and youth development
- Understanding of the complexity of youth transitions especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- Demonstrated experience in education career development or youth support
- Cultural humility and care in leadership and engagement
- Ability to build effective partnerships and networks
- Commitment to child safety and wellbeing
- Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
