Job Summary

Job Description:

A Head Plant Fabricator job involvesoverseeing all aspects of a plants fabrication operations including production quality control cost management and team leadership. Key responsibilities include ensuring production targets are met maintaining safety and quality standards optimizing processes and managing staff and resources. The role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering fabrication processes like sheet metal or welding and proven experience in a senior management or supervisory position.

Key responsibilities

Operations and production:Oversee daily operations implement production schedules to meet deadlines and ensure efficient and continuous production.
Quality and process improvement:Implement and monitor quality control measures to meet standards identify and resolve defects and develop continuous improvement strategies.
Cost management:Monitor production costs manage budgets and implement process changes to reduce costs and improve productivity.
Team leadership:Manage lead and motivate plant staff conduct performance reviews and ensure effective team performance.
Safety and compliance:Ensure compliance with all safety health and environmental regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
Supply chain and inventory:Manage inventory levels and coordinate supply chain logistics.

Required qualifications

Education:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or a diploma with significant experience.
Experience:Extensive experience (typically 8-16 years) in a manufacturing environment with proven leadership and management experience in a plant setting.
Technical skills:Strong knowledge of fabrication processes such as sheet metal welding CNC or injection molding.
Management skills:Excellent leadership problem-solving planning and interpersonal skills.
Process knowledge:Experience with quality management systems (like ISO 9001) and continuous improvement methodologies (like Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma) is often required.
