Job Summary

Maintenance Team Lead (Monday- Friday 1:30pm-10pm)
JOB SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE
The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for the timely efficient and accurate repair of machines and equipment with the ability to perform in all areas of their employment as listed below under Essential Functions. The Maintenance Team Lead will act as a liaison between the Maintenance Superivsor and / or Manager and the Production Supervisors and Managers on shift where he/she will work the predominant portion of their daily work schedule as well as being expected to perform work in additional area(s) as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with supervisor(s) about technical details questions and ideas
  • Report to Supervisor and / or Manager observed and reported machine & technical problems in a timely manner
  • Understand the workflow concept of the entire Lab operations
  • Operate all Surfacing equipment unsupervised to include but not limited to air compressors blockers polishers generators engravers backside coaters and Microsoft windows-based computers
  • Calibrate and put into operation above listed equipment unsupervised
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and simple repairs unsupervised on all above listed equipment and other equipment and devices as needed
  • Perform routine scheduled and emergency maintenance under supervision on all above listed equipment and other equipment and devices as needed
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or Manager to include but not limited to cleaning and trash removal
  • Understand and use technical documentation such as parts lists maintenance guides and exploded drawings
  • Follow approved safety instructions practices and procedures
  • Ability to operate in a production capacity and maintain machinery and equipment in at least one specialist area to include but not limited to: Surfacing (tapers layout blockers generators polishers and backside coaters.) Coating (thin film vacuum (AR) and Dip coating) and Finishing (edgers tracers drills blockers)
  • Focus primarily on specialist area but able to perform other maintenance duties as needed
  • Attend and successfully complete technical training in specialist or other areas as assigned
  • Initiate remote troubleshooting support and successfully complete repairs by phone email text or other means of communication
  • Understand and use technical documentation such as electrical and pneumatic schematics and diagrams
  • Ability to work extended / overtime hours as business needs dictate
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two (2) years of experience within ABB Labs technical or manufacturing environment as determined relevant by management
  • Employee will have adequate and demonstrable experience in Maintenance position activities as listed above or equivalent and maintain competence in non-specialist areas
  • Ability to learn (and follow) energy control and lockout / tagout procedures for all applicable machines and equipment prior to performing maintenance tasks on said machines and equipment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit stand walk bend and use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (safety/weight belt provided if requested). Specific vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus is required.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The anticipated base pay range for this position is $27.50
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors including geography experience qualifications skills and local minimum wage addition you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
