About the role

Welcome to the Boots Operations Retail Operations team an exciting team at the heart of Boots UKs Central Operations Function. Our aim is to ensure that what we do is Simpler for Stores Better for Customers and adds More Value for this role you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the cross-functional project aimed at building a retail availability strategy that makes sure products are consistently stocked and accessible to customers driving sales and loyalty. It combines inventory optimisation technology integration and proactive execution working with our retail supply and supply planning teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic Roadmap Development: Build and maintain a strategic roadmap for on shelf availability improvement ensuring alignment with both retail and healthcare objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Facilitate collaboration across logistics supply stores finance commercial layout and data teams to deliver successful programme outcomes.
  • Operational Excellence: Champion continuous improvement and identify root cause analysis.
  • Risk & Cost Management: Support teams to understand challenge and interrogate the balance of lost sales risk against unproductive inventory maximising availability.
  • Performance Measurement: Track and report on key metrics (OSA working capital supplier compliance cost of stock management).
  • Change Management: Champion the availability strategy across the organisation finding ways to engage and inspire across the organisation driving continuous improvement.

What youll need to have

  • Proven experience in programme or project management within retail supply chain or operations.
  • Strong stakeholder management with the ability to engage challenge and influence appropriately.
  • Analytical skills for balancing inventory risk and cost.
  • Change management and excellent communication skills.
  • Proven track record of identifying managing and delivering strategic roadmap milestones.
