About the Role

This patient-centred service provides high quality preoperative anaesthetic assessments for patients awaiting elective surgery at Southland Hospital. The objective of APAC is to prepare and optimise patients requiring surgery to ensure they are well informed and fit to undergo anaesthesia.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for skill development for Registered Nurses looking to further advance their clinical practice skills in health assessment.

About you

It is desirable that applicants will have:

• A post-graduate qualification that includes Advanced Heath Assessment (or equivalent)
• Be working towards a Level 4 portfolio
• At least 3 years postgraduate experience in a medical and/or surgical setting
• Ability to work autonomously
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve
• A proven desire to work at the top of their scope of practice
