Theemployeecollaborateswithteacherstoeffectivelyimplementinstructionalstrategies and classroommanagementandassessmenttechniquestoensurestudentachievement. CollaboratesattheschoollevelwiththeESOL teacher to support students and improve student achievement.
EducationandExperience
Bachelorsdegreeorhigherfromaregionallyaccreditedcollegeor university
Threeyearssuccessfulclassroomteaching experience
CertificationandLicensureRequirements(ifapplicable):
- LicensedasateacherinNorthCarolina
EssentialFunctions/TypicalTasks
SupportandworkwithESOL teacher to assist with instruction of EL identified students
Assist English Language Identified children aged kindergarten through high school in development of reading writing speaking and listening as well as academic vocabulary
Engageinacademicactivitieswithselectstudentsinone-on-oneorsmallgroup.
Utilizeassessmentinformationbeforeduringandafterinstructiontoguide instructionaldesign.
Assistinanalyzingdatarelativetotheimpactonactivitiesandstudentachievement.
Maintainconfidentialityofdataandinformation.
KnowledgeSkillsandAbilities
Employeemustbeself-motivatedself-directedcollaborativeflexibleandhighly organized.
Knowledgeofeducationalcurriculumstatestandardsinstructionalmethodologyand technology.
Abilitytoestablishandmaintaineffectiveworkingrelationshipswithteachers administratorsandclassifiedpersonnel.

Mustbeabletoperformmediumworkexertingupto50poundsofforceoccasionally and/orupto20poundsofforcefrequentlyand/orupto10poundsofforceconstantly toliftobjects.
Mustpossessthevisualacuitytooperaterequiredofficeequipmentandinspectwork foraccuracythoroughnessandadherencetoworkstandardsandinstructions.
