Job Title: Title I Tutor
Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Position Summary: Set schedule singe cost objective paid 100% from Title I
The Title I Tutor prepares educates and coaches students in a Responsive Education Solutions
(ResponsiveEd) school. The tutor works with parents and students to provide and implement
individualized instruction to improve student achievement.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
One of the following:
o A High School Diploma and 48 hours of higher education
o An Associates degree or above
o Successful completion of the THEA or other appropriate examination or core academic ability
o Successful completion of the Paraprofessional Educator course provided by Master Teacher
o Successful completion of Training of Paraprofessionals provided by Regional Service Centers
Texas State Teacher Certification (preferred)
ESL Certification (preferred)
Experience
Teaching experience in a Public School is preferred
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
A passion for children
The ability and patience to work interactively with children
Strong time management communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to understand the individual needs of each student
Clear understanding of goal setting for students
The ability to communicate with all levels of students parents the administrative staff and
Campus Directors
Excellent verbal communication skills
Able to manage multiple priorities effectively
Ability to travel to local area schools
General knowledge of ResponsiveEd curriculum and instruction methods (preferred)
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide tutoring and instruction to develop the students understanding in assigned content areas.
Provide sheltered instruction support for language acquisition.
Coach and help students to become familiar with state mandated testing and other assigned
testing material.
Teach students and parents stress reducing techniques.
Allocate time and resources to areas the student(s) are struggling.
Perform tutorials during normal business hours
Travel to local schools as required.
