Behavioral Health RN Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home psychiatric nursing assessments including evaluation of mental status psychosocial factors and safety risks.
• Provide skilled interventions to manage symptoms of mental illness including medication administration teaching and monitoring.
• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions coping strategies and treatment adherence.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans focused on behavioral health needs while coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.
• Collaborate closely with physicians therapists social workers and the Director of Nursing to ensure continuity of care.
• Document patient progress and update care plans as conditions evolve.

Qualifications for Behavioral Health RN Jobs

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience (home health or community-based setting preferred).
• Strong clinical judgment therapeutic communication and crisis-intervention skills.
• Public Health Nurse (PHN) certification a plus.
• Valid drivers license reliable transportation and ability to travel to patient homesin your assigned geopod.
