About the role:
This role is focused on leading the end-to-end project management of complex solution development and deployments to Audit and Assurance teams across Australia Fiji and PNG. The Project Manager will ensure successful delivery of initiatives by applying structured governance stakeholder engagement and project management practices. The role supports strategic initiatives within the NAAS governance scope and is a key role within the NAAS PMO responsible for driving project delivery across the Audit and Assurance and Enterprise Audit and Assurance functions.
This role is a 12-month contract position.
This is a hands-on project management role requiring independent delivery capability. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who takes initiative and drives outcomes proactively balancing delivery focus with a people-first approach. They will be expected to:
- Manage complex projects autonomously from initiation through to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time within scope and aligned to quality standards and business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Audit and Assurance operational learning and technology teams.
- Foster collaboration and drive team accountability while maintaining momentum and clarity of purpose.
- Support NAAS & PMO leadership in resource planning risk management and reporting across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Execution
- Independently lead the end-to-end delivery of complex projectsincluding planning execution and closurewith cross-functional teams ensuring alignment with business objectives scope and timelines.
- Apply structured project management practices to manage scope schedule and resources ensuring disciplined execution and alignment with governance expectations.
- Monitor progress proactively identify risks and blockers and implement mitigation strategies to keep delivery on track.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders across Audit and Assurance operations learning and technology teams.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication across all levels of the organisation ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed and met.
- Lead meetings workshops and status updates to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
Governance & Reporting
- Support NAAS PMO governance activities and internal firm compliance requirements which may include processes such as technology risk assessments privacy impact assessments and other firm-wide standards.
- Contribute to portfolio-level reporting including resource utilisation milestone tracking and delivery metrics.
- Ensure all project artefacts are maintained and accessible supporting auditability and knowledge transfer.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery practices and contribute to the evolution of NAAS PMO frameworks.
- Share lessons learned and support the uplift of project management capability across the team.
- Champion a people-first approach to delivery fostering collaboration accountability and team wellbeing.
Experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex products or solutions within a matrixed organisation coordinating across cross-functional teams and managing diverse stakeholder interests.
- Proven ability to independently lead projects from initiation through to completion applying structured delivery approaches and maintaining accountability for outcomes.
- Experience working within structured delivery frameworks ideally using waterfall methodologies and stage-gate processes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships across teams at all levels.
- Experience in working with recognised Project / Program Management software
- Familiarity with governance and compliance processes including exposure to internal firm requirements such as technology risk and privacy assessments.
- Ability to manage scope schedule and resources with discipline and alignment to governance expectations.
- A people-first approach to delivery fostering collaboration accountability and team wellbeing.
