The Role
Be a part of the ABC Mildura-Swan Hill team based in Mildura where you can work with our creative energetic and accomplished team who are all about storytelling with a purpose. Our talented team delivers dynamic content to our audience across north west Victoria and south west NSW. We work together to support one another meet our audiences needs and the expectations of the ABC News strategy.
We are looking for a Breakfast Presenter with a contemporary and conversational on-air style and an ability to produce engaging audience-focused content across multiple platforms.
The Job
Under the general direction of the Local Editor the role will include:
- Contributing to planning and commissioning content and developing and distributing story ideas that will engage local and national audiences.
- Contributing to the Local Emergency Coverage plan engaging with stakeholders and providing ongoing updates for local and national audience.
- Generating stories that are relevant to a broad section of Australians and reflect the cultural geographic and socio-economic diversity of the country.
- Producing stories for multiple platforms.

About You
You have a naturally conversational on-air style and a sense of the stories that will appeal to local audiences on-air and across online and social media platforms.
You will also bring:
- A naturally collaborative workstyle.
- Detailed understanding of stories and issues that affect the local audience.
- Accomplished editorial skills including the ability to source and analyse information and exercise reliable judgement.
- Advanced ability to use all software and hardware relevant to this role.
