Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate Show Producer is responsible for assisting the Show Producer in the development and execution of all phases of the project life cycle for every assigned Marquee Event or Capital Project. Assists in defining and managing the entire project scope from concept to operation including but not limited to creative design production fabrication technical integration and installation costuming and makeup development and operational requirements. Ensures compliance with Universal Orlando policies and Entertainment Creative Development goals and creative intent. Responsible for ensuring conformance with all 3rd party Intellectual Properties. Supports successful completion of all tasks through all aspects of the Project.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Associate Show Producer maintains the project schedule providing direction to the project team to ensure alignment with the overall Project milestones goals and strategies as outlined by the Senior Show Producer and Show Producer. As part of the Projects leadership team the Associate Show Producer is responsible for monitoring changes or delays to the schedule and aids the Show Producer in course corrections as needed.
  • Acts as the secondary point of contact for all assigned projects and interprets communicates and presents Project information to a variety of audiences throughout the Project process. Leads routine project meetings including project rollouts. Acts as the secondary point of contact for all Project vendors.
  • Ensures that staffing and resources are contracted in accordance with approved project budgets and schedules. Makes employment decisions including hiring terminating and promotional recommendations. Evaluates subordinate staff on creative technical leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Performs administration of Construction and Design Contracts contributing to scope clarification as necessary per Legal review. Prepares all Directives for Show Producer Senior Show Producer Director and VP the absence of the Show Producer approves all vendor payments according to the completion of work and the contracted payment schedule.
  • Supports the Show Producer in ensuring the Projects creative intent is successfully executed. Responsible for partnering with the team to develop review and manage scopes ensuring that the creative intent is developed within the Projects parameters.
  • Is required to regularly represent the Entertainment Production Department as Manager on Duty (Production 10) or the Entertainment Capital Projects Department as Site Supervisor. Responsibilities include but are not limited to problem solving all issues involving the venues or project site and Team Members as well as communicating those issues to the appropriate Management Representation.
  • Assists the Show Producer who functions as lead estimator for large scopes of work and generates project estimates for full project scope. Supports creation of project estimates and monitors continually evolving design documents and estimates to ensure the project tracking is up to date.
  • Contributes to the development of strategic sourcing and staffing plans to support project production efforts. Assists the Show Producer with bidding & awarding Construction Documents and other work packages. This includes developing a bidders list and preparing a Request for Proposal (RFP). Maintains strong vendor relationships. Supports development of RFP cost breakdowns.
  • Monitors the Projects Quality Standards for consistent alignment with the Projects creative intent. This includes regular walks through the production sites to review progress and developments to ensure that the work being accomplished is in accordance with the contract documents.
  • Supports the execution of risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle. Monitors project trends and projects potential risks assisting with the implementation of mitigation plans as appropriate.
  • Interfaces with appropriate internal and external resources through every phase of design production installation rehearsal operation and close-out ensuring the highest level of integration into the overall strategic plan for the Resort.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years Project Management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
