We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong technical expertise the ability to make wellreasoned design and project decisions and a collaborative approach to project delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading teams mentoring others and contributing to complex HVAC and plumbing projects that support the broader community.
YOUR ROLE AT CNG ENGINEERING
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will serve as a technical leader and mentor within our MEP team. Youll guide HVAC and plumbing system design from concept through construction contribute to quality assurance and help develop the next generation of engineering talent.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead with Technical Expertise
- Serve as Engineer of Record for mechanical and plumbing systems.
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems that emphasize performance efficiency sustainability and occupant comfort.
- Perform and verify load calculations system analyses and code reviews.
Collaborate Across Disciplines
- Coordinate with internal MEP teams architects and external consultants from project kickoff through completion.
- Lead design and construction meetings with clarity and professionalism.
- Support client relationships through responsive communication and technical excellence.
Mentor & Develop Talent
- Provide guidance feedback and technical support to junior engineers and designers.
- Participate in structured checkins and performance development discussions.
Manage Projects Effectively
- Oversee a balanced portfolio of projects with support from project managers and design staff.
- Maintain quality schedules and budgets through organized planning and proactive communication.
- Address design and construction challenges with sound engineering judgment.
Support Construction Administration
- Review submittals respond to RFIs and conduct site visits to verify design intent.
- Participate in field observations and coordinate with contractors as needed.
- Prepare and manage contracts and fee proposals with transparency and care.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Ability to obtain Texas PE licensure
- 10 years of mechanical/HVAC/plumbing design experience in municipal/aviation education healthcare or commercial sectors
- 7 years of handson MEP design experience
- 3 years of project management experience
- 3 years of supervisory or mentorship experience
